Suhu rata-rata bumi terus mengalami peningkatan. Dampak langsungnya adalah pemanasan global yang mengancam kelangsungan hidup di bumi. Berbagai upaya penanggulangan pemanasan global terus dilakukan. Antara lain dengan upaya-upaya penurunan emisi karbon. Mengingat tingginya biaya dan rumitnya upaya penurunan gas rumah kaca di atmosfer, maka upaya penurunan emisi karbon antara lain didorong oleh perdagangan emisi karbon di bursa. Melalui perdagangan ini, pihak yang sulit menurunkan emisi karbon, bisa mengimbanginya dengan membeli hasil penurunan emisi karbon tersertifikasi. Masalahnya, banyak pihak yang tidak menyadari bahwa mereka sebenarnya berkontribusi pada emisi karbon di bumi. Melalui tulisan ini, mari kita lihat apakah kita berkontribusi pada emisi karbon melalui sektor yang kita bahas di bawah ini.

Cross Border Adjustment Mechanism merupakan aturan yang dibuat Uni Eropa untuk mengantisipasi kebocoran emisi karbon seperti ini. Secara umum, peraturan tersebut mengatur agar perusahaan Uni Eropa membeli sertifikat penurunan emisi karbon melalui pasar karbon saat mengimpor produk dari luar wilayah Uni Eropa. Jumlah sertifikat yang dibeli diperhitungkan berdasarkan perhitungan biaya terkait emisi karbon yang harus dikeluarkan dalam proses produksi barang tersebut bilamana dibuat dalam wilayah Uni Eropa.

Apa itu emas digital? Sebenarnya judul di atas kurang lengkap, seharusnya membeli emas fisik melalui platform digital. Dengan digitalisasi perdagangan, saat ini semakin marak berkembangnya aplikasi-aplikasi yang memfasilitasi perdagangan suatu aset tertentu. Kalau setelah kita melakukan pembelian, aset yang dibeli langsung dikirim, maka itu tidak menjadi masalah selama aset yang dikirim sesuai dengan deskripsi aset yang ditawarkan melalui platform tersebut. Namun kalau asetnya tidak langsung dikirim, maka senantiasa ada pertanyaan mengenai keberadaan aktual atas aset tersebut. Pelanggan sudah bayar, tapi asetnya masih di “titipkan” pada penjual. Aman kah? Apalagi mengingat aset yang diperdagangkan adalah emas. Banyak pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang senantiasa muncul.

During the week, crude palm oil (CPOTR) contracts were observed to be moving in a bullish trend and closed the week with a significant appreciation of 5.26% - closing at Rp 17,600 per kg. Taking advantage of the fundamentals again, CPO prices have rebounded after previously falling to a pessimistic level at the end of November. There is an imbalance of supply and demand levels, so the strong reason behind the price rally.

The gold contract GOLDUD closed last week's fluctuation with a little movement of 0.6% to $1,798.20 per Troy Ounce. The relatively minimal trading sentiment since last Friday made the USD and gold equally strong while the market absorbed issues related to monetary normalization as a follow-up confirmation after sentiment emerged at the Fed meeting last week and COVID’s Omicron developments.

The average ICDX's tin price throughout December until the third week was observed to move consolidated in the price range of USD 40,000 - 41,000 per tonne, weighed by the re-emergence of Covid-19 cases globally which prompted the re-imposition of tighter activity restrictions, causing tin price movements to get depressed.

The COFR rupiah crude oil contract ended the last session of last week with significant appreciation, after starting the week with the remnants of the previous bearish pressure – recording a weekly gain of 7.88% to Rp 1,026,400,- per barrel. The subdued developments regarding the Omicron COVID variant, joined by a number of key oil industry sensitive headlines – such as geopolitics and the policies of major producing countries, served as a catalyst.

During the week, crude palm oil (CPOTR) contracts were observed to be moving in a downward trend and closed the week with a significant correction of 7.29% - closing at Rp 15,1570,- per kg. The risk-off mood combined with bad sentiment around the crude oil market has been the main headwind for palm oil in the past week. However, market players still expect a corrective pullback ahead of the year-end season which usually boosts demand for CPO.
